Terpenes: Myrcene

Herbs and Condiment

Found in Thyme, Mango, and Lemongrass. Mycrcen is currently the most commonly found terpene in commercial cannabis. Myrcene has a fruity, clove-like aroma. It must be added that the  effectiveness of an individual terpene, such as myrcene, is aided by the fact that it is typically consumed in partnership with other terpenes and cannabinoids. Because all strains of cannabis feature multiple terpenes, the ratios that they appear significantly affect the overall smell profile and medicinal effect of an individual product. Myrcene’s major effect is relaxing in nature, resulting in eased muscles and a reduction of pain. Myrcene is recommend for patients who suffer insomnia, restlessness, as well as anxiety. Myrcene is also a proven anti-depressant and anti-inflammatory.
